2024 LEUKEMIA RUN

On October 6, 2024, scientists from the CRC221 once again took part in the 26th Regensburg Leukemia Run, a significant charity event organized by Leukemia Aid Eastern Bavaria e.V.

Held in the scenic Oberer Wöhrd area of Regensburg, the run offers a range of walking and running distances suitable for all levels of fitness, including children. Since its inception in 1999, this event has grown to become the largest charity run in Eastern Bavaria, while still maintaining its welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.

This year, a large group of CRC scientists and medical professionals joined over 3,000 participants to show their support for cancer patients and raise awareness of leukemia. The CRC community’s involvement extends beyond their scientific research into innovative leukemia treatments; they also emphasize the importance of raising social awareness about the disease and supporting the crucial work done by Leukemia Aid Eastern Bavaria.

All proceeds from the event go directly to aid projects that provide vital support for leukemia patients, helping to improve their quality of life and access to care.
