Our team investigates how timed modulation of the cGAS/STING pathway can improve outcomes after allogeneic stem cell transplantation by reducing GvHD while preserving or enhancing GvL. Building on our prior findings, we will collaboratively define optimal pharmacological and microbiota-based strategies using preclinical models, in vitro systems, and single-cell multi-omics. Together, we aim to develop a precision-medicine approach that achieves durable anti-tumor immunity with minimal toxicity.

Within the Collaborative Research Centre/Transregio (CRC/TRR) 221 innovative immune modulation strategies will be investigated to separate GvHD from GvL effects in order to enhance the safety and efficacy of allo-HSCT in the future.
