Federica Mennella, Italian-American born in Milan, graduated in 2003 with a triple major in Communications Studies, English, and German Literature (Cattolica University, IT and Coventry University, UK). In 2023 she completed an MFA in Film and Electronic Media (American University) in Washington D.C. where she grew up professionally and lived for many years. A founding member of AnimaMediatica digital magazine (since 1999), she has published film and media criticism for the magazine and also for the print magazine Segnocinema, among others.  She has worked in communications and filmmaking as a director/producer and script doctor for 15 years, recently focusing on social documentaries.

Since 2021, she has served as Digital Media & Communications Director for LIT (Regensburg, DE), overseeing a major rebranding and the creation of a new website for the institution, besides directing the Press Office and being in charge of External Communications. She also produced 14 short biopics documentaries to illustrate the LIT mission, currently uploaded on the LIT website.

She now holds the same role at CRC TRR 221 (UKR, Germany), managing communications, digital strategy, and a new website development.
